What's an Ecotone?

An ecotone is transitional zone where two biomes come together - for example, it's the spot where a meadow meets a forest. Ecotones are places where plant and wildlife communities mix, or where human-dominated and wildland communities mix.

Who We Are

Ecotone Biodiversity LLC believes we humans can have a beneficial impact on wildlife. Founded in 2023, we work with land owners and land managers to convert  backyards and public spaces into valuable habitat by mimicking nearby ecosystems. We are inspired by creating beautiful spaces that act as critical habitat for native wildlife from areas that were previously an eyesore or underutilized.

Our Services

We offer a variety of services including: landscape design, consultation, passive and active rainwater harvesting, native plant selections catered to specific microclimates, and erosion control to return health to wildland systems.

Our Approach

At Ecotone Biodiversity, we first shape the earth to encourage rainwater to soak into specific locations. Once we plant the rain, we then introduce plants that support native pollinators, wildlife, or produce food.
